The Lawmakers Gazette is the official newspaper for Indigenous lawmaking councils and Section 35 constitutional agents in Canada. Learn about new Indigenous laws, new and proposed regulations, administrative decisions affecting Section 35 constitutional rights, and public notices.
The Lawmakers Gazette recognize and affirms the constitutional agency of Indigenous peoples afforded to them under Section 35 of the Constitution Act, 1982. This permits any Indigenous lawmakers from their respective nation to submit to the Lawmakers Gazette even without a Band Council Resolution (BCR) or consent from Indian Act band council governments.
Please reach us at gazette@lawmakers.ca if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Use the Online Form Submission below or email your submission to gazette@lawmakers.ca by uploading your file in PDF format written in English or French, and if applicable, any Indigenous language deemed necessary (optional).

Type 1: Indigenous governments, including traditional lawmaking councils
Type 2: Section 35 constitutional agents, including grassroots individuals
Type 3: Canadian governments, including municipal governments
The Lawmakers Gazette Directorate will contact the person identified in the submission to confirm details and request a fee or honorarium before proceeding to publishing.
