Submit An Article

The Process, Explained

To submit an article to the Lawmakers Journal of Canada, use the SUBMISION FORM below or email us directly at editor@lawmakers.ca


All submissions will be reviewed by the editors. Please stay alert for an email as the editors may require additional information from you or confirm your submission.


Once reviewed and complete, the editors will then submit the article for double-blind peer review. Upon completion, the editors will notify the submitter of the article how the article will be published, where it will be published, and any further details, if accepted.

Submission Guidelines

All original unpublished work is accepted on all topics and subjects related to Canada's Constitution Act, 1982, Section 35 jurisprudence, Indigenous legal traditions, and sharing from Knowledge Keepers around the world. All academics, creatives, and lawmakers are welcomed.


We typically accept legal scholar formats in English, French, or any Indigenous language for articles, commentary, storytelling, and all other publishing formats as long as they are consistent with the Lawmakers Journal of Canada's constitutional themes.


Please include a short biography for background knowledge and then a one-liner biography to be published. If you are Indigenous, please include any alias you wish to publish along with your clan affiliation, and all other cultural significances giving weight to your words (optional).


Please use writing standards akin to submitting for a Western legal scholarly article, unless otherwise deemed not culturally appropriate. If submitting by email, please include both the WORD file and PDF file formats.
